seems to me it would depend on how much hp you will be making when u spray and how much hp ur tranny is built to handle, but i dont really know much about trannys but its my .02 cents. good question by the way i would like to here from a builder on this to get a good answer

Anyway you can lose horsepower through the shift the longer the transmission will last, no matter who built it or what parts are installed. The "window switch" when setup correctly, will "shut off" the nitrous during the shift. The "key" is the nitrous going off at the start of the shift (a good quality shift takes about .2 - .25 seconds to complete) and coming on after the shift is "complete", not at the end of the shift, but just after the shift is done. The nitrous will be off a very short time, but the life of the transmission will virtually be the same as with "no nitrous". Only coming off the line will you be harder on the unit when using nitrous, but most don't "break" from the starting line, just during the shifts. With the window switch setup correctly when using nitrous, I have seen a few guys run 10's with stock transmissions without tearing them up.
