Are Yank converters painted with heat sensitive paint? I was looking at buying a used converter, but had questions due to the dark marks seen in the pic.

 

We do use a special paint and the photo you show looks like the clutch has been put to some extra duty work.
This will not always cause damage but might need to be looked at on the inside to put your mind at ease.
