Did i choose the right converter for my setup?
after doing some reading on the boards i went ahead and ordered a TCI 3500 2.5str..
my mods are
SLP Lid
Pacesetter LTs
3" offroad-Y
3" hooker catback
3.42s
BFG DRs
this is about as far as i am going to mod the car for a while..
so i am hoping i made the right choice in stall speed and str
your thoughts?

just remember to not leave the ASR off lol.
I annihiliated my 16" 555R DR's on a WOT @ 25mph. Kicked out sideways, very scarey.
the converter is loose from 2000-3000rpm (depending on inertia necessary). So its not very street friendly compared to stock. But it sure does kick some *** for the $$ I think its a good choice.
see my list of mods.

i love mine, i think its more streetable now, but thats just me i guess......launching is gonna take ALOT of practice. even with DR's you'll be able to blow the tires off at will anytime below probably 40mph. from a stop, floor it and you'll be most of the way thru 2nd gear b4 the car starts getting any kind of traction. makes an a4 so much more fun!
thanks for the input...
one other question... do i need a shift kit to keep the shifts firm? i have them set to 75% on the HPP3 but will that be enough with the stall or should i look in to getting a real shift kit?

what about for me is that a good converter i plan on doing a shift kit and long tubes too and as of now my garage is stocked with suspension parts (lcas tq arm lca relocs stb sfcs panhard sway bars tunnel brace and rear end brace) all about 2 be installed so far ive run a 12.6 with wheel spin im hoping the suspension will plant the wheels and give me the traction i need for a good 60' but what i want out of an converter is to get kicked in the back on launch and still be tight when im up in the 130 mph range...

If you want a good launch and from a roll. You going to need a STR of 2.0 or lower and a higher stall.
