torque converter problems.. i think..
just finished putting my 5.3(from a 2002 silverado) back together.. bought a torque converter off ebay stupid cheap..
GM 4L60E 30 Spline 2,200 Stall 1985 - 2002 (Some later models also) Lock-Up Torque Converter
i slid it onto tranny to make sure it fit.. it slid up on there. felt like it clicked up in there all the way. there was about 3/4" between where the verter would sit against flywheel, and where the tranny would mate to the engine.
i go to put it all together.. bolt tranny to motor.. that goes fine. go to turn verter to line up the bolt holes.. cant budge it.. i can barely turn motor over by hand with no spark plugs in it. loosen tranny bolts up, motor and veter spin freely..
just to double check.. there isnt a plate that goes between motor n tranny right? it has the stock flexplate from a 2002 silverado..
my dumb *** didnt measure anything on the motor side of things.. i guess i should pull tranny n see how that **** measures out..

Sounds like you might have a LT style converter. Measure the OAH, overall height. From the converter pad, where it bolts to the flex-plate, to the top of the hub, the parts that goes in the transmission.
LT = 5.900-5.950
LS = 6.500-6.550
Hopefully you just did not stab it all the way.
