Default 4L60E fluid....???

ok, i know it came with dextron 3, the dealer said they use dextron 6 now. The trans i just installed in my car had 74,000miles. Now mine i just removed had 175,000. I work at a Toyota dealer and have access to their T4 fluid at cost. On the bottle of dextron 6 it says it will not replace t4. Gm sells t4 for the vibe's at almost $15/qt, i can get it for less than $4 bucks, dextron 6 is $5 at my cost. I'm just wanting to use the best fluid possible. I know T4 has friction modifiers in it and is really good stuff. Would it be a good idea to use or not? If not, what all suggestions????

SuperTech Dexron 6 is less than $5 a quart. It's additive package is regulated by GM so it should be just as good as the stuff in the GM bottle.

Did you see the transmission you just installed run in another vehicle? If not you might as well take it out and open it up. Or at least take the pan off, if you didn't already, see whats in it as far as worn metal, etc. Break the filter open aqnd look in there too.

Other than that you can disconnect the lower cooler line, start it and see if fluid comes out. Probably do that first.
