Default tranny slipping in 4th..WTF

I had tranny rebuilt to a level 2(to withstand 400-450rwhp) trans from a local shop specialized in 4L60e trans. I've had a couple issues with small leaking, but thought he had it straightened out since I no long see fluid in my garage.

With that said, I've put about 400 miles or so since my tranny guy checked all seals, fittings etc. and had a real test last night. Local town had a "cruise" last night where about 200+ people were out cruising down a small strip of road. A lot of stop and go, stop and go, etc. Leaving from there I noticed in 4th gear transmission was slipping some. I was like WTF????!!!!! I pull into gas station, check fluid levels simply b/c that is exactly what it felt like, low fluid. With car idling, I try and check levels and its sooo damn hard to tell if it needs fluid or not. Well I add 1qt of trans fluid that i just so happen to have in trunk, and it no longer was slipping in 4th.

Could I have trans fluid leaking while I'm driving the car and not while it's Parked?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's possible that it could have been low. Did you get a chance to get back under the vehicle to look for leaks? Also do you have any transmission codes? In some cases a code might disable lockup of the torque converter clutch. This might give you the impression that it was slipping in 4th. Just a couple things to look at off the top of my head. Vince

It locks up fine...feel it lock up at 53mph. Think slipping with just a quart low?

It is possible. I personally fill to the full hot when cold. The 4l60e likes a little extra and I have not found it to hurt anything. Vince

ttt, wondering if I should put another quart of transmission fluid. Looks like I do have a small leak somewhere. I see transmission fluid dripping from o2 sensor wiring.
