since the torque management is controlled by tables in the computer yes you need a tune or to buy tuning software.. i dont know if any handheld tuners can do this. i know hp tuners and efi live can.

there is only one table you need to zero out.. its under the engine>torque management>spark retard> vs torque reduction. Zero out this table and torque management is gone. When the computer figures out how much % it wants to take out for torque management it references that table to see how much spark to take out. 0 = no spark taken out.
