Default Got a good one for you

Just rebuilt my 4t65e-hd and it shift 1-2 fine 2-3 fine 3-4 fine but once in 4th or O/D it acts like i slammed on the breaks! The front nose dives towards the ground like i just dropped an anchor.

Im not getting any hard parts grinding or anything violent sounding besides increased rpms from the motor. It acts as if O/D is like putting it in 1st or reverse while at speed.

A friend told me that the seals are probably letting fluid by them causing the transmission to go into reverse. Ideas?

4T65E or 4L65E? In either case I would suspect a sprag or one way clutch in backwards. When a bind is found in a transmission this is usually the case. Vince

I would agree if its like the brake is applied in 4th the sprag is seized or there a cross leak keeping the overun clutch applied , The sprag has t free wheel in 4th and the overun clutch has to be off. In either case it sounds like and internal built issue.
