Shift Kit on Stock Tune Not to sound like a complete newb... what EXACTLY does a shift kit do?
To clarify, I understand it increases trans pressure, gives firmer/harder shifts, but...
How does it do it? Will I be stuck in gears longer at part throttle so it can shift hard? Will I always shift harder? Do my shift points remain the same or change? Should I get a tune first, or do the kit first?

It should shift consistantly firmer.
A shift kit for a 4L60E doesn't change shift points. It may shorten shift duration.
Get rid of torque management 100% or don't bother with a shift kit.
