Default Trans temp from the computer via Aeroforce gauge accurate?

Ok i just installed and Aeroforce Interceptor gauge in my 99 Trans Am. It has a setting to tell what the trans temp that it apparently gets from the cars computer. How accurate is this? Mine seems to be very high.(gets to around 240 after 30-40 mins of driving) If this is accurate do i need to be hunting a new trans?

Mine seems to be accurate. That sounds pretty warm. Do you have a cooler? With a cooler and a 4200 stall hot lapping at the track mine barely gets to 200 degrees.

Yea it has an aftermarket cooler and as far as i know its a stock stall. It does feel mushy in OD so i think trans may be on its way out.

if by mushy you mean it's like you push the clutch in and it free revs then it's probably time to start saving your penny's for a new tranny.

I just got one last week. These read off the pcm so its fine but your temps are pretty damn high. Do you have the stock cooler in the loop of the aftermarket? If you do I would take it out.

I have an autometer sensor in the pan, and its always within 5 degrees of what I'm scanning on the PCM.
