Default 4T65e info needed

I know its a FWD but need to fix sons car.
Posted in the LS-4 section(same trans) but didnt get much.
Im replacing a 4T65e-HD thats in a 97 GP GTP L-67.
Ive bought the drivetrain out of a rolled 06 G6 GTP and want to use the trans.
I know the diffy is different so Ill use the one from the 97.
What Im not sure of is the auto shift. The 06 has something similar to tapshift.
Im hoping I wont have to change the valvebody but still not sure.
Anyone have any insight as to what I need to swap from the 97 trans to the 06 to make it work in the 97 GP?

Completely different units. It wont work. Ratios, sprockets, electronics.
Easier to install the engine and trans and buy a wire harness and ecm from a 06

thanks for all the negativity
difference is valve body, sprocket ratio , differential.
I can live without the HD diffy, car sees no track time anymore.
Valve body not hard to switch. PCS is cheap.
External Pringle switch can be added, pinout is same on the rest of stuff.
I guess no one thinks outside the box?
