Can you turn off the ignition in a rmvb th400 in 3rd gear after crossing the traps in order to coast to the return road to read plugs?

i have shut mine off in 3rd before not going 120+ but it shut off

 

no. keep the motor on, and the trans in 3rd.

 

wouldnt coasting in 3rd and then turning the car off after you make the turn off effect reading the plugs by coasting for so long with the engine running?

 

cut it off at the turn off. if you've still got efi on the car, you could shut off the injectors in a low map, high rpm situation, or just lean it out real hard. Only time the engine would see normal fueling at idle would be like 5 seconds tops.
