Default tranny slippin???

is a good way to tell early on that your tranny is slippin by it hittin the rev limiter in the 2-3 shift early, because i just changed the fluid and it started doin it from the 2-3 shift.. it hits real early, about 6500 rpm's but im not sure if my tach is right... and the conv. is brand new... thanks

From what i have heard it doesnt want to shift into 3rd, it will just bounce off the limiter multiple times. If yours is shifting early it might be learning the new converter or reset the points with the HPP3. And stop beating on that car so much

before mine went out i have problems for ever with it hitting the rev limiter on a manual 2-3 shift and some times auto 2-3 shifts and then fianly it started slipping hrd in 4th only then 3 and then 3-4 gone. the 3-4 clutches went out mine but 1-2 still was fine due to 3and 4 on the same drum i think , the 4 is just the band being applied, but my guess if its bangin off the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift only i would got a head and either build your or relace the 3-4 clutches just my 2 cents thanks
