Default 4L60E issue...help please!!

I have a 2000 4L60E witch has been built 3 times now. Currently the tranny has no gears, as in if you put it in reverse its like its in neutral same as if you put it in ANY drive gear, no wierd noises, just revs like its in neutral.

I was doing a burnout when the car shifted into 3rd and that was when what ever went, went....i realy cant afford to have the tranny completly rebuilt for a 4th time so i was hoping someone can give me an idea on what broken part can cause this.......

I have checked the linkages and the fluid and both are good...it has a 4400 stall, billet servos, kevlar bands, and a new valve body that has been drilled for firmer shifts......I really dont want to spend a fortune on this as i am planning to do an M6 swap sometime in the future..When i dont know. I just want to be able to drive my car again, its been so long......Thanks

It's going to have to come out and apart. No sense in guessing IMO.

I would have to guess that you broke the pump or one of the shafts in the unit. Either way as Jay posted it needs to come apart. Vince

Make sure you did not break the rearend here. If you put in any forward gear does the speedometer start to work? If it does, it is the rearend that went. To see if the pump is working follow the bottom line from the transmission that goes to the radiator and disconnect it and see if you have fluid coming out when you start the motor. If you have fluid coming out, then the front pump is ok, you most likely broke the input drum.

thanks for the input guys....i know the rear is ok because it will roll with no problems or weird noises (ive broken rearends before)......i have the radiator out and motor apart... but when i took the trans lines off the radiator i noticed that the cooler lines were dry, so that tells me that it is the pump........also when it broke it didnt make any weird noises like a pop, crack, or anything, just stoped working....it was also having the same problem that someone else here had stated that theirs was doing, VERY HARD shifts when going from park to any gear (hard enough to make me think it might break the D/S or rearend)....i guess the pressures were too high...how do you correct that?

Next question how hard and pricey is the pump to replace?

Thanks again!!
