Default quick question about a4 to m6 swap

i have a 99 trans am a4 and he has a 00 ss m6. ive been searching and searching and have read so much my mind is crossing lol. we are straight up swapping. when it comes to wiring, we should just be able to pull harnesses and swap them right. plug everything back in where they were before in the other vehicle and be good to go right.

logically if you swap the hardware and the harness that goes with it there should be a place for everything and nothing left over or nothing to splice, right?

if there is an easier way let me know.

also in the year differences will there be a difference in harnesses or required censors?

The worst part is going to be the wiring in the interior of the A4 to M6 car.
My SS has a swapped M6 and I just ran three wires into the interior instead of trying to remove it from a donor.

Don't forget the rear gears, and the pcm swap or rewrite.
Theres a lot to be said about the swap.

If you want to read the sticky threads be sure to read the ones in both the automatic and manual trans forums. The manual trans sticky has more info.

Yeah I've read the stickies. But for his going m6 to a4 all the stickies say he will need an a4 harness. What easier way than for us to just switch harnesses.

you can swap harnesses and get your ECU reflashed
or maybe even swap the ECU as well but then you would
probably need to swap columns too as the ECU will be looking
for that frequency from the key.

Yeah we are going to get the pcus flashed. Its the wiring that will get me. I have plenty of reference in the stickies and we are going to walk everything down next to each other before we dive into this

It's mainly the interior wiring. Everything inside the car is wrapped in bundles with everything else, and only a few wires need to come out of each bundle.

Yes the engine harnesses are a pain in the *** but you can take them off and swap them out as a whole.

As for rear gears I'd say the guy that ends up with the A4 should keep the 3.42's and the M6 should get 3.73's at least.

You can swap computers no problem, I have a 2002 in my 2001, no problems with the VATS.
