car goes retarded in reverse I've had a low rpm stumble for a while that I'm still trying to pinpoint... could be the opti, could be egr...
However, I put the car in reverse and its as if someone cut half the plug wires w scissors - the car shakes and vibrates but doesn't lose rpm or tries to die.
Could this be a tranny issue?
FYI, 93 w 109k mi and original owner either messed w the valve body or installed a shift kit - it shifts very hard at 2krpm up to third

other than a reverse input drum chatter I dot see what it could be are you getting a vibration? is that what you are comparing the plug wire thing to as in the same feeling as a misfire or is it a misfire? I trans will not cause a misfire but it can cause vibration as in clutch chatter. does it do it sitting still or moving in reverse or both
