m6 or a4...........m6 would have 3:23 or 3:42...
a4 ...............2:73 or 3:23..........

i would run 3:42 or 3:73 in a daily driver.........you could go 4:10 and really have fun......really depends on your mods

Since your asking in the Automatic tranny section I'm going to assume you have an automatic (A4). In that case you either have 2.73 or 3.23 gears. Look on your drivers side door. There should be a white sticker from GM with codes. Way up top it'll say either GU2 or GU5.

If it's GU2 then you have 2.73. If it is GU5 then you have 3.23's. The perfect gear for an A4 daily driver IMO is 3.42. But the 3.23's are a great gear to match with the right torque converter on a daily driver. Plus upgrading from 3.23's to 3.42's is such a minimal gain for the $$$ spent it's not really worth it. My advice would be to check your code and see what you have. If you have 2.73's then I'd look for a 3.42 since most M6 guys upgrade thiers and sell them off cheap. If you have the 3.23's I would recommend just keeping them and adding a 3000-3500 stall TC instead.

3000ish stall with a 3.42 ratio is perfect for a streetable A4 IMO....my converter stalls at like 3800 (despite the rating lol) and the gears are enough to keep it tight for street driving.
