Default manual valvebody 4l80e

Wondering if a manual valvebody 4l80e is good for a DD & long drives on the highway. I,ve been told other gm trannies do not last long with manual valve bodies. I want to change my m6 to auto.

with any amount of street driving, i would go with an auto mode
downshifting to 1st every time you stop gets old-one reason i switched back to auto-you can program it to do anything

i used the Compushift controller, mainly because im computer stupid, i mounted the display screen right on my shifter, it has readouts with rpm's, trans temp, speed, etc-its pricy, but some of the cheaper ones get closer when you have to buy the extras that come with the Compushift
it did everything i needed, i drove mine mostly on the street, but also raced it, and shifted it man.-i would buy one again

Check out the new OptiShift controller by Baumann Controls.

It is a killer control unit IMO.

I've used all the controllers at one time or another and the Optishift is a new design, is more user friendly than most, and has a more friendly price too.

I'm a dealer for it and when purchased with a transmission we give a pretty nice discount.

We've tried to make the 4L80E an affordable option, and Baumann has made a controller that is affordable.

now if you get a full manual valve body can you still use the computer to shift I always thought once you go full manual auto is no more

I ask because I will be getting a full manual VB with trans brake and i don't care if I have to shift it manually all the time but if I can keep the auto shifting capabilities then I will keep the wiring and programing for it
