Did it have reverse before the swap? Or was this transmission just purchased from someone who might have sold a non working trans?

Reverse is usually the first to go in 4l60, id say its time to freshen it up! if it sat for 1.5years thats not good on trans by any means

if its been sitting for a while its possible that the reverse boost valve is stuck.

to run in the street in Drive until it shifts to second atleast.. but the truck is barebones.. juss a cab and motor.. so im scared haha

it was from my mechanic who had this trans in a built camara.. so i know it worked before. but it has been sitting a long time.

so what to do.. any suggs.. should i put the rear end on jack stands and leave in R for a while idling
