Default Torque converter cover bolt size?

I've got a 93 z28 with a 700R4... after the tranny was built they lost the bolts for the cover to the torque converter. Looks like 4 bolts, pretty small thread size. Anyone by chance know what size bolts these are so I can get some replacements from the hardware store?

Not sure if there is a specific size for these. It might be best for you to go to a bone yard and try to get them off another trans. Any 700r4 with a similar cover should have the same bolts. Vince

Actually I just thought of it, I can borrow my boss' tap & die set and probably find the thread pitch with that

Dude F bodies are so scarce around here, it's like seeing a unicorn when you find one at a bone yard. Most of them are already completely stripped out too.

Its a machine screw so I doubt that you will find a thread pitch using a gauge. My suggestion is that most all vehicles that used a 700r4 and have a tin cover the bolts were all the same. I'll look to see if I have one laying around to take a picture of and post it for you. Vince

Edit....use a drill bit in your existing holes to use as a gauge. Then go to the hardware store and see if you can find a thread pitch close to what I posted. Make sure get one that is just larger OD of the drill bit so the threads have something to grab onto. Hope this all makes sense and helps you out. Vince
