Reading trans temp from PCM vs Sender in pan
I use a aeroforce guage that plugs right into the obd port and gets temps from the pcm. I was wondering if anyone knows what the temp difference would be vs the more common method of running a sender to the pan?

The trans temp sensor is mounted on the valvebody, which is in the pan. Given inaccuracies with two sending units if you compared them, they should be almost identical readings. The accuracies of each unit would determine how close or far apart the readings are.

ahhhhh alright. I was hoping reading temps off pcm should be higher than whats reported through a different sender unit. The temps I report are not as cool as what most other guys report. Figured it might tell me if my cooler is working better than I thought. Oh well. Thanks!

I would try confirming your reading by one of those laser thermometers pointed at the pan. That would be another way to give you a quick stay clean kind of reading.

Iv never heard of that before. Thought you were pullin my leg till I looked it up lol.
I hear alot of guys saying their temps dont get much over 160-170f racing around on a hot day. Mine seem to be 10-20f more than them. Makes me say..160-170 my ***!
Ill have to confirm next summer. Oh god summer! **** this snow!
