New Circle D tq installed

Default New Circle D tq installed

So I finished my new 3200 stall last night with "minor" if u will, problems. First of all gm for some reason thought itd be cute to put hex bolts in the most torqued down metal in the car (the tc) second of all be careful getting a oem replacement flexplate from ur local autoshop they were not the right one for 4l60e at all my local ones. Had to get a 1500 chevy truck one.. And 3rd off I have a question about my finished product. I've never had a stall auto before but have rode and drove in plenty. When I'm at idle the car has a little roar to it and almost sounds like a rattling noise. But when under throttle drives completely smooth and fine. I no I did the install correct and rotated the stall on properlly.. Any suggestions? Thanks and thanks to circle d for the amazing service, instant shipping, and great stall so far

I never enjoy doing a tc install. It can be a PITA. My SS makes a rattling type noise as well. Its done it on two different stalls but its runs strong as hell. I think its prolly a heat shield rattling. Its been doing it for years, I would take it too Doc and see if he has any idea. My T/A doesnt make a sound though nor does my Z/28... Let us know how that Circle D works out, I just bought one not 5 minutes ago. The Fuddle is ready to commit suicide

The last 2 hughes and 1 custom convert i did not to long ago also rattled inside, i was told that it was normal with big stall high power cars.

Well that is much more reassuring so i appreciate the feedback. And as far as the stall goes performance and drivability wise i couldnt have asked for anything better. The car drives amazingly (other than the slight rattling noise) and is crazy when WoT, that is if i have the guts to slam it! lol. I have a couple vids of the car i will be posting soon. as far as track times go, the stall shaved nearly .6 off my time and im sitting at a 11.8 with the mods in the sig. (stall untuned). Thanks again guys as well as Circle D who i highly recommend to anyone looking for a great stall at an unbeatable price!

Converter should not have a rattle. I suggest looking over things to make sure the exhaust or heat shield id not rubbing anything. Might also check the converter bolts to make sure they are tight.

Stall was 375 and 420 shipped to jacksonville fl.. And chris I tightened them down with a torque bar with locktite.. I do need to check the exhaust shields and such but even still I don't think its that.. Like stated before the car drives to good for the stall to be messed up imo

that seems cheap for a torque converter, whats the difference between this one and a yank ss3600? Also was wondering how is the ride, how much does the car need to rev to move, like if you were under light throttle is it the same to stock? car looks great by the way

Depends on the TC and gears. You can make the stall STR tight or loose as well. It all depends on your mods and future mods. Some folks go to big and end up not happy with the changes.

well my car is a dd and it has 3.73 gears, really dont want to hurt fuel economy too much so thats why i was asking. looking at a tc as everyone on here says it makes a huge difference

I've lost maybe 1MPG after installing the Circle D 3200 stall 11" torque converter. With my mixed driving I usually get about 19MPG, after the TC i've been getting about 18-19.

Those are typically results with the 278mm. Most loose about 1 MPG. Of course it depends on the right foot.

Wow, that's an amazing gain! Very impressive.

I'm seriously thinking of one of these for my next mod. Can you describe how it feels when driving around town? How high does it rev before you take off under moderate throttle? If you take your foot off the brake with the car in gear will it creep like a stock contverter? Basically besides 1/4 mile pefromce, what difference did you notice as compared to the stock converter?

I'm curious because I've never been in a stalled car before, so I have no idea what to expect as to how it drives.

My stock GM converter bolts are a combo of a Hex head and Allen head with a coating of the blue locktite. Worked great on two converter swaps. Never had any "rattling" noise.
