Default Torque converter questions?

Well my stall converter locked up and and destroyed itself . Basically im trying to find out what exactly i need to be looking for as far as converter specs when buying a new one. I have a 3800lb 1970 Chevelle with a mild 94Lt1, 10lbs of boost ,daily driven weekend strip.
Ive heard of different sizes , torque multiplication , clutch material , brazed fins, needle bearings , anti ballooning plates..
Some of this stuff i get and some not so much. Im on a tight budget and dont have 500 to lay down for a name brand converter but would like to get something decent before putting her back together.
Let me know details and reccomendations.

I suggest calling Dave @ Yank and ask, but I think you may have a problem
with ..."3800lb ..., 10lbs of boost ...and dont have 500 to lay down..like to get something decent ..."

Yeah i know budget and a setup like mine doesnt go together but just trying to figure out all my realistic options

Your not going to get a decent converter for your setup for $500 more like $800. Save your cash for a little while longer and buy it right the first time!

Well i have ran across this local converter builder and i can get this converter for 450.
It is a 9.5” Furnish Brazed primary, hand welded primary and turbine, billet turbine hub, ABCO clutch lining, and welded mounting ring.

For an additional $50 can add an anti-ballooning plate.

Does this sound like its worth the money?

OP please do not missunderstand my comments, i am only rambleming
IF I were going this route I would add the anti-balloon. Is it a goog deal ??
as to " the welded mounting ring " I would have to be sure the conv was not JUST a old style( 6 cyl ) conv with the adpting ring welded on, again I am not trying to shift you eather way
