Exclamation The most unusual trans issue

This is the strangest thing and it has been going on for a while now. Once I have been driving for a few miles I loose excelleration. The enginge still revs, the RPMS still go up and down but I have no excelleration. Until I tap my brakes and then I get excelleration bake for a few mile until it hapens again and the I nee to tap the brakes to get the excelleration back. Has anyone ever had this problem or heard of this ever happening before. I have the stock trans, trans cooler and 103,000 miles on it. It still shifts smooth, is not leaking fluid and gets serviced every 30,000. I am clueless....

What happens if you creep into the throttle in 4th gear cruising at highway speed? Does the RPM start to creep up again without accelerating?

After driving at highway speeds for a few miles all of a sudden i will loose exceleration and the rpm's will stay steady and I can hear the engine just reving up like I am not in gear. I tap the brake pedal for a quick second and then put my foot back on the gas pedal and have exceleration again for about 5- 10 minutes and then it happens again. I don't have a regular trans shop that I frequent. I want to get it fixed but i am nervous that s shop is gonna say that I need a new trans when all it may be is a $15.00 part.

It sounds like there's a problem with the torque converter slipping.
