YankSS3600...Good Deal?
YankSS3600...Good Deal? Alright, so I know a guy who is selling his YankSS3600. He's switching to a T-56 and the converter has about 2,000 miles on it, but it's getting sent to Yank to get rebuilt since the clutches on his tranny went out, so there were shavings in the converter, so it'll be like new.
He offered me the YankSS3600, TCI flexplate, and a B&M tranny cooler (either 16,000 or 18,000) for $650.
First question: Is this a good deal for all of that?
Second question: Would I need to get a bigger cooler than that for this size of stall?

Personaly I wouldnt buy a used TC just like I will never buy a used trans cooler ever again. Sure, 30-40 bucks for a used cooler but after buying trans flush, and all the other stuff for it you end up spending more for a used one then who knows if you ever get all the crap out from where ever its been before.
But if your confident that the TC and cooler will be clean then go for it but even if I knew everything was really cleaned out I dont think I would pay that much.
If that cooler is 16k, 18k btu then yea should be fine. Most guys run the 14400btu b&m. But bigger is better.

I would probably buy a new cooler and the converter is getting rebuilt by Yank so it's going to be pretty much brand new. All of these parts brand new are over $1,000.

I would get a bigger cooler than the one you listed above. And I am with the other guy. I would just buy the converter new. $725 shipped isn't much more than the price you listed because I would go with a bigger cooler than listed above anyways.

I got mine used on here for $450. Guy assured me over and over it was perfect (I was going to send it in) so I trusted him and ran it as is and it's been great.

Haven't forgot about it. I've never bought a used part for my car and this would be the first if I decided to do it, although it'd be basically new since it'd be rebuilt by Yank. I'll probably pass on it though and just get a new one down the road. I'm not in any hurry.
Decided to pass it up. If I decide to pull the trigger on a stall, it won't be till next winter probably. Got a few other things I need to pay off and a few things I wanna do to the car before a stall.
