Sorry if this is a dumb question , but can I use the 4l60e out of a 2002 2WD GMC 1500 in my 98 trans am? Is it a direct swap? Thanks

I think it is a direct swap, I bolted a 4l60e from a 2002 Camaro up to my 5.3L from a truck.

I've heard the fbody's have a different tailshaft piece. Not sure if it's true though or what the actual difference is between the 2.
