Ok so here's what happened . Stop and got gas when I got back in the truck the RPM and speedometer didn't work and the truck didn't shift into first had to put it into 1 myself and I think it is only going into 2 then move it up to 3 . the check engine ligth came on and is pulling 12 codes ranging from trans soliniod to o2, it's a gm truck with 4l60 5.7
also the indicator light goes off when in 2 and 1

 

I had a similar problem with my 02 6.0L hd truck. It ended up being a fuse with a bad connection.

 

You have set "limp mode". The computer parks the trans in 3rd but you still have manual 2nd when the shifter is in D2 or D1. Somehow, you have lost power to the trans. Does your speedo still work? My guess is a bad connection at the trans connector or a bad fuse.
