Default l480e into a 1968 chevelle

Do I need to cut up my trans tunnel a 1968 chevell to install a 4l80e? I have a LQ4 out of a 3500 4X4 that had a 4l80e on it I have the flex plate wire harness and ECM. If I go to a 4l60e what do I need to change?

i put a 6.0 and 4l80e in my 69, i used the Hooker mounts and headers, so whatever mounts you use could place it a little diff
i only had to do some minor tapping of the tunnel, more so back in the area of the tailhousing, top 2 bolt "ears"
i cut the mount off the trans x mem., slid it under the tail housing, and welded the mount back on the back side-i cant remember if i had to drill a new hole in the frame, or used the ex ones-no driveline problems at all,
great upgrade, i ran high 9's and could roll on the highway @ 1900 RPMS
you can cut out some of the center of the x mem and box it in, make a new mount, thats what i did on my 65 im working on
if the 6.0 is a latter year with just the .400 crank spacer, just rem that and use a 4L60E flywheel and converter for a 4L60E-but i would stay with the
4l80e, cause your gonna add power latter, lol

Some guys find they have to cut a bit, some don't. Depends on the mounting kit you use and how far back or forward you want the engine to sit.
