Default should i change to f type fluid?

i know there has been alot of talk about this but i was wondering if anyone has had problems with thier tranny driectly related to switching from dex3 to f type fluid. my stock tranny has 55k miles on it and everything still seems fine. it's a daily driver till i finish rebuilding my aod in my cougar. i heared f type wears parts quicker then dex 3. i dont really see how since f type has more friction modifiers in it but i'm just cuious. colonel? thanx.

Good question, I'm eager to see a response.

But on the other hand, can you run GM spec fluid in the Ford tranny? I'd like to know this when I have the AOD rebuilt in my T-Bird SuperCoupe.
