Default Acceptable temps as reported by computer?

I remember seeing before that the trans temps the computer reports (via aeroforce gauge) and that of a pan mounted sensor are different. What is acceptable for the computer reported temp? With the warmer weather the last couple days mine has creeped up to about 170 is this a good temp? Any info greatly appreciated.

170* is fine. Generally close to engine temp or below is perfect in my opinion. Vince

I was wondering the same question. Does the stock sensor read hotter than aux sender? I use that gauge as well.
