Maintenance being done this weekend Getting ready to do the trans fluid change on my trans am and I was wondering if it was ok to refill my fluid through the dipstick tube under the hood...

Last couple of times I've had mine changed, I have taken it somewhere. Now, with the TC on it I think I may do it myself. My question is, by just dropping the pan, does it get all the fluid out of the converter?
Want to make life a lot easier and less messy? Buy a vacuum pump fluid changer. You suck all the fluid out of the pan before dropping it and eliminate juggling a pan full of fluid and the resulting flood of ATF.
Also helps with differentials, oil changes on power equipment (generators, lawn mowers, etc.)
If you change the fluid in the pan regularly you don't need a flush.
