Default 93 Firebird 700r4 w/ problems

i just posted this on the midwest regional forums but so i thought posting it on the transmission forum wouldnt hurt. My 93 firebird lt1 w/ 700r4 transmission. Its been doing this weird thing where it shifts into 3rd or OD and it just bogs down, if i hit the gas it will clear it out and start going good but if i let off it will go back down to like 1000 RPM's. We adjusted the d10 cable so its not that. If you have any idea what this could be PLEASE let me know.

Unplug the electrical plug and see if the problem stops if so you have some issue with the way lockup iwiring is set up or a wiring issue

i dont think there is an electrical plug. the shift points and everything is done with the d10 cable which attaches to the throttle body

On the drives side there should be a plug for the TCC operation and some inputs for the computer so it knows what gear the trans is in. This is located just behind the linkage shaft torwards the rear a few inches. Franks wants you to unplug this to see if it helps the condition you are having. However your vehicle might be having a drivability issue and when the TCC is applied it just makes it more noticeable. Vince

There is a 5 pin plug. The "detent" or t/v cable controls the line pressure for downshifts, part throttle shifts and to some degree, shift points. This needs to be adjusted correctly or the trans will not last. The shift points are fine tuned through the governor on the d/s of the trans.
