i never heard that. is this true?

id still go with at least 3.23s.

Well, the reason im doing an at least 3500 stall converter is so i can keep my 2.73's...
Correct me if im wrong, with that stall, the car should pick up pretty well from any speed.
Nice heads up on a tranny cooler.

I'm running a Yank 3600ss and it is a night and day difference over the stock converter. Virtually no dead spots that I've noticed, even when I was on the stock tranny tune. Upgrading to a 3.73 ratio would really make the car feel like it's got a lot of snap. Oh, and like others have mentioned, tranny cooler FTW.

I'm interested in this too. It makes sense. Not that I have 2.73 anyways.

It is true the higher ratio of the 2.73's causes the motor to "slip" the converter a little more and thus creates more heat... It's not really a big deal as long as you have a good trans cooler.
