Default Is my converter dying?

I have logged the issue with HPTuners and the TCC is working fine for lock and unlock. Sometimes when driving under 50% throttle it will roast 1st and or 2nd gear around 2500 to 3000 rpms. The stall is way higher than this for stall speed. The car sometimes bucks while at cruise speeds before it locks up.

My thoughts are converter clutches are failing and randomly applying? Any other ideas?

I had a converter slowly dye on me. Sounds liek the same kind of thing. I would stomp the gas and it would grab nice and feel great. Then the next time it would be a dog, rpm's near redline but the car isn't pulling like normal. I waited and then the sumbitch literally disintegrated.....and it took out my brand new 4 month old FLP IV tranny. The converter was a brand new 4 month old VIG 3600.

Thought so. Knew I hadn't seen the car in a few years.

Drain and drop your tranny pan... I'm pretty sure your find a thick malice paste in there....that is what is left of your Lockup clutch..... I just had the same problem with mine....this is how ot started, then you lose fluid pressure because the filter is clogged, then finally lose all gears.

if you feel confident in your abilities you can swap converters, and while doing yhis pull out your valve body and clean it and all the solinoids with brake kleen.... I used about 6 cans to get all the junk out.

just don't lose any check ***** when you drop the valvebody
