i have a 00 camaro i swapped into a 49 chevy with the original trans with 60,000 miles on it with 5.7l and when i put it in gear and drive it wont shift, i can manually put it in any other gear and it drives but it will not shift out of low gear? any ideas,

 

does it stay in first when in drive? or does it not do anything?
