Clutch Pack?

Im considering buying a 1999 firebird formula. The thing is it needs a clutch pack in second gear. What is a clutch pack and how much will it cost to get a new one+labor?

Welcome to the forum

As far as your question, there is no 2nd gear clutch pack. To engage 2nd gear, the 2-4 band applies in the trans and that, along with the forward clutches holding, gives you 2nd gear. Is the 2nd gear slipping? I would suspect the 2-4 band or the servo.

and if your going to open up the tranny for just clutches...........might as well redo the whole tranny
