Default confused please help

so i got a T56 from a LT1 and found out that it would not bolt up to my LQ9, so i got the bell housing from a LS1. My question is why was i told that a old turbo 350 would bolt up to a LQ4 with just a flex plate spacer? wouldn't the 350 and the LT1 style bell housing be the same? or am i missing something? thanks in advance G

I dont think it has to do with the bellhousing.. A lt1 t56 has a different input shaft on the trans then a ls1 t56. So the clutches are different for one. To be honest im not sure what else needs to be changed. I dont know if the input shaft would even fit into the crank of the ls1 for the pilot bearing. so would at minumum need to change the input shaft and then the slave cylinder setups are different...

Basically yea a lt1 t56 isnt going to work without making a lot of changes to it at which point a ls1 unit is probably cheaper...

The old trans will bolt up. The 6 speed wont work bc of the input shaft.
