Well I will be doing a converter swap tommorrow, I am Installing a TCI SSF3500, How many miles do I need to put on it before I can really pull some good holeshots with it? How long is the break in Period?

I was thinking something like 500 miles or so, but im not sure......

 

i just locked up the converter about 50 times or so before i started beating on it...at least thats what i was told to do and i think yank says to do so with their verts

 

any break in on a converter has to do with the lockup part of the converter. The converter wont be locking up at WOT. I put about 50 miles on mine in town stop and go just to make sure the fluid level was OK and then I was very carefull for awhile when the car would lockup i would over excellerate above the lockup MPH and then drop off the throttle for the lockup. Did a have to? who knows but it seemed like a good idea. Do a search I know the colonel has commented on converter break in being

 

I agree with coolray. 50 miles to let bearings break in and go for it.
