tci ez tcu Has anyone used this controller for a 4L80 swap.
Also summit has it listed for 615.00 and that is less then anyone else by over 200.00. Keys said that is less them they can buy it for.

I have used it.... I have a TCI 6x...
it works well, very simple...easy to set up, only a handful of connections are needed..
Power, Ground, Ignition 12v,RPM (tach)signal, Throttle Position, and Vehicle Speed Sensor, plus the main connector for the 4L80e.
it worked well...and does everything it claims to do.
My issue was that I needed more control over my transmission than theat controller could provide for me.
as long as you dont have a huge stall, it will be fine. If you have a big stall(3600+) you might consider the PCS controller or if you can still find it, the Discontinued Redbox version that TCI used to sell.
My issue is that I have a stall that hits around 4400-4800 and I needed to be able to tell it to stay in gears much longer than it would let me with the limited settings in the EZ-TCU.
I also wanted a more precise per gear shift schedule and wanted some different pressures than the EZ-TCU was providing.
I can probably answer any questions you have about it...

My car is a 1999 Firehawk with a 402 LS2 with a F1A Procharger. It is a street car and not a race car. I know that you can get the RED controller from JEGS! The question is do I need it? I have a built 4L80e with a Yank PY3600. Should be around 800HP to the wheels.

for me.. the EZ TCU didnt cut it for part throttle...
for WOT it was fine, but my car is a "daily driver/show off at the track" - car
If I had a smaller stall...I could see it working great..
but the program that was in it for the TCI 6x, just does not work with a big stall...
the bigger the stall, the longer you are going to want to stay in lower gears before shifting on the street, you need the gear multiplication
