The "Beast" sunshell question

My uncle has a 01 Silverado w/ 195k. He is getting the 4l60e (2wd) rebuilt starting monday. It is just a stock 4.8L and he drives like a granny. The only thing is that he tows his 17ft boat.
I was wondering if I should order the "beast" sunshell and gear before he gives it to the tranny shop to rebuild?

I think the shell is a good upgrade for any vehicle. However if the trans is going to built by a transmission shop then they should be able to get you one.

You definitely want to upgrade the sunshell. The "Beast" is not a performance upgrade but rather a bad design improvement for the 4l60E. For as cheap as they are, I would never not put one in a 60E rebuild, whether it be a stock or performance rebuild.
