TH400 Automatic Shift Transbrake
TH400 Automatic Shift Transbrake is finally here.
Picked up the pieces from the machine shop last Friday. Installed them in a customer's TH400 Saturday for testing behind a 582 BBC.
This is a hydraulically activated transbrake. It functions when the transmission is shifted into low gear. You launch the car by shifting to 2nd gear.
The transmission then automatically shifts off the governor, and you can then manually shift to 3rd or bump the shifter to 3rd and let it shift through all the gears automatically.
In Drive (3rd) it shifts normally, has detent function, modulated line pressure, etc.
We will have initial track testing done within the next two weeks, and should also have our new design valve body seperator plates back by then that work well with this design.
We are offering them for no additional cost on any TH400 build as a promotion for a limited time.
They will be sold as an upgrade to our units or as a valve body assembly for other builders in the future.
