Early 4L60E question

Early 4L60E question I have an 05 4L60E out of a silverado 1500 4X4.
I want to change the output shaft to 2WD, so I know I need to change the output shaft by stripping the box. Can I use the shaft from an early 4 bolt tailhousing 4L60E in my later box?
