Default glide sat for a while, wont go into gear

i got a powerglide. when it was pulled, it was running great, only has about 30 miles on it. it then sat for 3 years. we put it back in a car and now it wont go into any gear. anyone know why?

got a th350 that did the same thing. figured this problem might be pretty common

First thing you need to check is to see if it pumping fluid and has line pressure. The top line is the return line. Remove it from the trans and put it in a 1 gallon bottle. It should pump a quart in 30 secs. If it is not pumping the problem is the pump.
