Default new member question

Im re building my first 4l60e transmission and I have a question about the 1-2 3-4 accumulator installation. I have 2 manuals and they show ths accumulato installation two different ways. the astg manual shows the 1-2 accumulator installed with the piston facing down with spring touching the separator plate. my gm tech manual shows the 1-2 piston up touching the spacer plate???

only the very early units had the spring to the plate on the 1-2 accum, after that the springs go in first and then the accum piston ends up against the plate.I do the same with the 3-4 piston against the plate springs to the case.

Thanks Performa

It seems that it dose'nt matter how the pistons go in. Will they work any way you put them in??
