Default need someone to help me figure out my transmission issue

So this has started happening rescently, around couple of days ago actually....

When I shift from park to drive, the car jerks heavily... but when I shift from park into any other gear, it does not jerk...

Under light acceleration the car shifts smoothly into each gear, but if i give it more gas, it shifts rough and jerks shifting into 2nd... (almost seems like a car with a performance shift kit, but the tranny is stock) but all the other gears are fine.

Before taking the car to a transmission shop I would like to know what could be my problem.

Car is a 98 t/a A4. Thanx

Anyone??? Helllp, in so tired of that problem!!!!

Car has 149K original miles on it, and im assuming so does the tranny... i have a fresh 3400 vigilante stall converter, fluid, tranny filter and gasket waiting for it, but now afraid to install it due to this issue

I have full bolt ons to complement the tranny mods... tune will follow shortly

I personally would not feel comfortable putting that stall in a 140k plus mile trans. As for the issue your having I would scan for codesand check mounts.

Thanx! I may consider a rebuild b4 the stall. But I've been told it could be the mounts as well
