thanks. i suspect you have already dealt with nss and reverse lights then too. i have not changed out my shifter yet to the f-body shifter. i hope it will be straight forward but i havent gotten a chance to look at it yet. does the shifter need 12v hot? or only when the key is in start? run?

the 3 situations/instances where mine unlocks
-cruising at about 40mph and above with the convertor locked,hit/touch the brakes and the convertor unlocks
-cruising at about 40 mph and above with the convertor locked, take foot off accelerator and let car slow down by itself and convertor unlocks when mph drops down to 35
-cruising at about 40 mph and above with the convertor locked, accelerate to increase 'torque demand' and convertor unlocks
all 3 parameters were the same with the OEM 1800,TCI 2800,and the current Yank SS3600.

That's good info... but let me add that all of those parameters can be tuned for the given combination. The numbers may or may not be accurate from car to car depending on the tune but, indeed those are factory parameters in most cases.
I will say though that the 3rd example is actually not related to torque but rather a function of TPS vs MPH. That file can be manipulated to allow the converter to unlock at say 65% TPS instead of a higher percentage from the factory.
