Built 4L60E not upshifting at full throttle

Hey everyone, got the problem figured out! My buddy has HP Tuners and took a link at things today. My max RPM (rev limit) was set to 6500, and the second column in one of the WOT shift tables was also set to 6500. We went through all WOT shift table cells and set them all to 5800 RPM. Took her out on the street, held the throttle down, and she shifted 1st to 2nd, as well as 2nd to 3rd just fine. Once we got back to his shop we set lowered the MPH shift points across the board for WOT down a tad just to be safe. So the problem is solved!

Your certainly welcome. But yes many times I see the trans blamed in this situation reguardless of where it comes from. And this is rarely a trans issue though it sometimes get chalked up to one. Its good you took the time to work it out as many times people dont and they swap trans converter and host of sensors etc chasing there tails only to eventually find the actual issue.I have seen this with not only our units but other vendors and ussually the only way I learn of the real issue being solved is by noting it on some unrealted post someplace else. So good you came and posted your final solution many do not.

Well again, still glad that you provided support-- that's awesome in my book. And if I can ever afford a 4L80E in the future when I'm ready to get more serious, you better believe I'm coming back to Frank

And yeah.. I hate when people never post a resolution. I came across several other posts on just LS1Tech alone of people having the same or almost identical issue and never mentioned if they found the problem and what the fix was, if so.

But apparently, bottom line is, make sure that EVERY figure in ALL of the shift tables is appropriate. Nothing should obviously be equal to or higher than the max RPM, so I'm really not sure how my tuner missed that-- would have saved me a blown engine :/

Good deal on correcting the problem. I called that one off the bat saying make sure the mph and rpm are correct cause thats the 2 factors it looks for to command the shift.
