Default temp trans dipstick plug?

During my friends h/c/i swap, he removed the the trans dipstick. when reinstalling the heads he put the bracket on without reinstalling the dipstick. even if he undoes the bracket, there is not enough room to maneuver the dipstick due to the fast 102 he put in. Tomorrow he is having his stall put in by a a tranny shop about 125 miles away. is there a plug or way to temporarily plug the dipstick hole until we drop the tranny and have room to install the dipstick?

not sure if it will work, you may try a rubber expanding freeze plug from a local parts supplier, or a plug for a small alum boat from walmart or a boat shop
only two things I can think of now

most hardware stores have a selection of plugs-is there a chance fluid will come out and spill all over-if so, you want a tight fit, as said, then some kind of expanding plug
dont forget to take the dipstick and seal with you, could be a long drive, lol

I don't think that will work. When I removed my dipstick fluid poured out. Like quarts and quarts. It wasn't overfilled or anything. I believe the fluid level is above the dipstick hole... Maybe I'm wrong. But this is just my experience.

There should be a rubber seal on the trans case itself. I would find a bolt that would lightly screw itself into it to create a make-shift seal for the drive.

Why not take 15 minutes and pull the intake again? It's a pain in the butt, but a lesson is a lesson unfortunately. Been there, done that. Do it right any you won't risk a major failure on the road.

if the trans was level, there shouldnt be "quarts" of fluid coming out-the fill line is pretty much just above the parting line of the pan
