ratchet shifter and cooler ?

ratchet shifter and cooler ? i need a 4 speed ratchet shifter... doing a stang lsx swap, the B&M hammer shifter says it works with a 80e but requires aftermarket tranny controller. Wouldnt it work on a 60e also? and why does it say controller required? im using a 60e so help me out. what gvw tranny cooler do yall recomend
I have the b&M pro ratchet on my 4l80 I Had to modify the shift lever, because I am too cheap to buy the one they sell seperate for the 80, but it was no big deal. It works great. I am not sure what they mean by a controller, The shifter itself is a pretty straight forward install, You will need some way to control the Trans however because it is controlled by a computer ((UNLESS YOU ARE RUNNING A FULL MANUAL TRANS)),, You can do that with a standalone control unit, or it can be done using a factory PCM also. Just need someone who knows how to tune it all in. Hope this helps
