Default Shifter cable linkage

I am trying to help my neighbor fix his shifter issue. he just got the car and the plastic clip that attaches to the gear selector is busted. i have not touched a 4l60e before, so i am out of my comfort zone. i went under the car with the thought there would be a old school setup like on my th400. oh well was i shocked to see a cheap piece of plastic that had broken. way to go gm, nice design. so can the plastic piece be replaced or does he need a entire new linkage cable? it was dark so i couldn't see as good as i would have liked. thanks for any help you guys can offer (ps i went though shoebox's site looking for a part number and found nothing)
